Revolution House
200 Market Steet
Philadelphia, PA 19106
We went to Revolution House to start up the blog again. We chose Revolution House because it is our favorite pizza restaurant. I have written about the food before so today I am writing about the atmosphere of Revolution House, so lets get going.
Good night see you next blog.

Jacob and Carl at Revolution House
Rosa’s Fresh Pizza
25 S 11th Street
Philadelphia, PA 19107
Today we went to Rosas. I ordered a plain slice. The pizza is cheesy, it has a lot of cheese. There is a lot of tomato sauce under the cheese. The crust is thin. Each slice is only a dollar. They only sell by the slice.
Editors note: When we arrived just around noon on a Saturday, they were playing very loud rap on the in-house system, which they turned down to a more reasonable volume when we walked in. The problem isn’t the rap (as much as I dislike it), the problem was the increasing explicit lyrics that eventually led in a song where every other word seemed to rhyme with either “truck” or “itch”. The owner knew there small children were there, and was aware of what was playing because he turned the music down when we walked in. I will not be going there again, for this reason, and this reason only.

Nomad Pizza Company
611 South 7th Street
Philadelphia, PA 19147
Today, we went to Nomad. The pizza is very chewy and puffy and good. And drinks they only had water with lemon because all the other drinks are alcoholic and you have to be over 21. They gave you sharp knives. We got to sit near the front where they make the pizza. Their oven is round and has fire in it. They put the pizza in the back of the oven because its hotter back there but they dont put it right near the fire. We ordered a margherita pizza.
I give this puzza 4 stars.
Editors notes:
1. Carl is doing todays blog because Jacob didn’t come because he was punished for not doing his homework.
2. We were goig to order another one but we saw some staff members (including pizza makers) use their phones and handle money and not wash their hands.

McGillin’s Olde Ale House
1310 Drury Street
Philadelphia, PA 19107
Today we went to McGillin’s. The pizza here is thin and the cheese is stringy. I don’t think it’s made in a brick oven. There is just the right amount of tomato sauce. They have other types of pizza besides plain. I also had some hot wings, which were very hot.
Editors note: While McGillin’s is not a pizza place as such, we stopped here on a whim instead of going to Chinatown for lunch on Saturday. Zayda, who’s never happy anywhere, and usually eats like a bird, managed to finish a giant meatball sandwich and a slice of pizza. It’s very kid friendly during the day.

Stella Rossa Ristorante
929 Walnut Street
Philadelphia, PA 19107
Today we went to Stella Rosa. They gave us crayons to draw while we waited for our pizza. They have a kids menu and we ordered a pizza from there. I thought it would be small, but it was the same size as my Dad’s. The sauce was tomatoey and the cheese was stringy. There’s a lot of crust. Dad says he thought his pizza was undercooked, but Carl and I thought it was OK.
Carl adds that the pizza takes 90 seconds to cook.

Blackbird Pizzeria
507 South 6th Street
Philadelphia, PA 19147
Today we went to Blackbird Pizzeria. I ordered the Nacho Pizza and instead of the cheese being white, it is orange. (Editors note: The regular cheese is white, it’s just because this was nacho style cheese). The toppings are jalapeno peppers, avocado and caramelized onions. The cheese is small and stuck together. You can order it by the slice. It’s across the street from Starr Gardens playground so we can play before and after eating.
Carl adds: The dough is very skinny. The crust is very chewy and thick. The pepperoni is hot.

Pine Street Pizza
1138 Pine Street
Philadelphia, PA 19107
The pizza is hot. The main crust is very hard. The cheese is a little burnt. Editors note: It wasn’t really burnt, it was a little brown. A small is a little small so we ordered a second one. They also sell hoagies. Jacob really likes the turkey hoagies
Jacob says that the bottom crust is thin and there is not that much tomato sauce on some slices. We also had Mug Root Beer, which tastes a lot like birch beer.

Pizzaria Vetri
1939 Callowhill Street
Philadelphia, PA 19103
Today we went to Pizzaria Vetri. When we got here it was very crowded and you can’t make reservations. This place is fancy – (Carl wanted to make sure I added that). There’s only one size of pizza and I think its small. We ordered 4 pizzas for the 3 of us. The pizza is thin. The sauce is runny and the cheese is spotty which means it’s fresh mozzarella. The crust was chewy. The pizza oven is big and has 2 openings so they can make pizzas on one side and other food on the other side. They let us go to the back and see the whole pizza oven.
Fun fact: The person who owns this place also owns the other fancy place – Osteria.

Little Italy
901 South Street
Philadelphia, PA 19147
(Note: Entrance is on 9th St)
Tonight went to Little Italy. They sell pizza by slices. We used to come here a lot but they changed a lot of things and were mean so we stopped coming. I got a margarita slice and it was big. The sauce was messy. The slices are left out so you can choose what you want and then they cook it again. You have to go to the counter to order; the waiter doesn’t come. The cheese on the margarita pizza is thick and stringy and reminds me of Carl’s favorite place Joey’s that closed.
